Introduction
With the following data protection declaration, we would like to inform you about which types of your personal data (hereinafter also referred to as "data") we process for what purposes and to what extent. The data protection declaration applies to all processing of personal data carried out by us, both in the context of the provision of our services and in particular on our websites, in mobile applications and within external online presences, such as our social media profiles (hereinafter collectively referred to as "online offer").
The terms used are not gender-specific.

Relevant legal bases
Below you will find an overview of the legal bases of the GDPR on the basis of which we process personal data. Please note that in addition to the provisions of the GDPR, national data protection regulations may apply in your or our country of residence or domicile. If more specific legal bases are also relevant in individual cases, we will inform you of these in the data protection declaration.
- Consent (Art. 6 Para. 1 Clause 1 Letter a) GDPR) - The data subject has given their consent to the processing of personal data concerning them for a specific purpose or several specific purposes.
- Contract performance and pre-contractual inquiries (Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. b) GDPR) - The processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party or in order to carry out pre-contractual measures taken at the request of the data subject.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. c) GDPR) - The processing is necessary to fulfill a legal obligation to which the controller is subject.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. f) GDPR) - The processing is necessary to protect the legitimate interests of the controller or a third party, unless the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject which require the protection of personal data prevail.

Security measures
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures in accordance with the legal requirements, taking into account the state of the art, the implementation costs and the nature, scope, circumstances and purposes of the processing as well as the different probabilities of occurrence and the extent of the threat to the rights and freedoms of natural persons, in order to ensure a level of protection appropriate to the risk.
The measures include in particular ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data by controlling physical and electronic access to the data as well as the access, input, transfer, securing the availability and their separation. Furthermore, we have set up procedures that ensure the exercise of the rights of those affected, the deletion of data and reactions to threats to the data. Furthermore, we take the protection of personal data into account when developing or selecting hardware, software and procedures in accordance with the principle of data protection, through technology design and through data protection-friendly default settings.
SSL encryption (https): In order to protect the data you transmit via our online offering, we use SSL encryption. You can recognize such encrypted connections by the prefix https:// in the address line of your browser.

Transmission of personal data
As part of our processing of personal data, it may happen that the data is transmitted to other bodies, companies, legally independent organizational units or persons or that it is disclosed to them. The recipients of this data may include, for example, service providers commissioned with IT tasks or providers of services and content that are integrated into a website. In such cases, we observe the legal requirements and, in particular, conclude appropriate contracts or agreements with the recipients of your data that serve to protect your data.

Data processing in third countries
If we process data in a third country (i.e. outside the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA)) or if the processing takes place in the context of using third-party services or disclosing or transmitting data to other persons, bodies or companies, this will only be done in accordance with the legal requirements.
Subject to express consent or contractually or legally required transmission, we only process or have the data processed in third countries with a recognized level of data protection, contractual obligation through so-called standard protection clauses of the EU Commission, if certifications or binding internal data protection regulations are in place (Art. 44 to 49 GDPR, information page of the EU Commission: https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/law-topic/data-protection/international-dimension-data-protection_de).

Deletion of data
The data we process is deleted in accordance with legal requirements as soon as the consents permitted for processing are revoked or other permissions no longer apply (e.g. if the purpose of processing this data no longer applies or it is no longer required for the purpose). If the data is not deleted because it is required for other legally permissible purposes, its processing will be restricted to these purposes. This means that the data will be blocked and not processed for other purposes. This applies, for example, to data that must be retained for commercial or tax law reasons or whose storage is necessary to assert, exercise or defend legal claims or to protect the rights of another natural or legal person.
Our data protection notices may also contain further information on the storage and deletion of data that apply primarily to the respective processing.

Use of cookies
Cookies are small text files or other storage notes that store information on end devices and read information from the end devices. For example, to store the login status in a user account, the contents of a shopping cart in an e-shop, the content accessed or the functions used in an online offer. Cookies can also be used for different purposes, e.g. for the purposes of the functionality, security and convenience of online offers and to create analyses of visitor flows.

Notes on consent: We use cookies in accordance with legal regulations. We therefore obtain prior consent from users, unless this is not required by law. Consent is not necessary in particular if the storage and reading of information, including cookies, is absolutely necessary in order to provide users with a telemedia service that they have expressly requested (i.e. our online offer). The revocable consent is clearly communicated to users and contains information on the respective cookie usage.
Notes on data protection legal bases: The legal basis under data protection law on which we process users' personal data with the help of cookies depends on whether we ask users for consent. If users consent, the legal basis for processing their data is the declared consent. Otherwise, the data processed with the help of cookies is processed on the basis of our legitimate interests (e.g. in the commercial operation of our online offering and improving its usability) or, if this is done as part of fulfilling our contractual obligations, if the use of cookies is necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations. We will explain the purposes for which we process the cookies in the course of this data protection declaration or as part of our consent and processing processes.
Storage period: With regard to the storage period, the following types of cookies are distinguished:
- Temporary cookies (also: session cookies): Temporary cookies are deleted at the latest after a user has left an online offering and closed their device (e.g. browser or mobile application).
- Permanent cookies: Permanent cookies remain stored even after the device is closed. For example, the login status can be saved or preferred content can be displayed directly when the user visits a website again. The user data collected using cookies can also be used to measure reach. Unless we provide users with explicit information about the type and storage period of cookies (e.g. when obtaining consent), users should assume that cookies are permanent and that the storage period can be up to two years.

General information on revocation and objection (opt-out): Users can revoke the consent they have given at any time and also object to processing in accordance with the legal requirements in Art. 21 GDPR. Users can also declare their objection via the settings of their browser, e.g. by deactivating the use of cookies (although this may also limit the functionality of our online services). An objection to the use of cookies for online marketing purposes can also be declared via the websites https://optout.aboutads.info and https://www.youronlinechoices.com/.

- Processing of cookie data based on consent: We use a cookie consent management procedure, within the framework of which the consent of users to the use of cookies or the processing and providers mentioned in the cookie consent management procedure can be obtained and managed and revoked by users. The declaration of consent is saved so that it does not have to be requested again and so that consent can be proven in accordance with the legal obligation. Storage can take place on the server side and/or in a cookie (so-called opt-in cookie, or with the help of comparable technologies) in order to be able to assign consent to a user or their device. Subject to individual information about the providers of cookie management services, the following information applies: The consent can be stored for up to two years. A pseudonymous user identifier is created and saved with the time of consent, information on the scope of the consent (e.g. which categories of cookies and/or service providers) as well as the browser, system and device used.

Business services
We process data from our contractual and business partners, e.g. customers and interested parties (collectively referred to as "contractual partners") within the framework of contractual and comparable legal relationships and associated measures and within the framework of communication with the contractual partners (or pre-contractually), e.g. to answer inquiries.
We process this data in order to fulfill our contractual obligations. This includes in particular the obligations to provide the agreed services, any updating obligations and remedy in the event of warranty and other service disruptions. In addition, we process the data to protect our rights and for the purposes of the administrative tasks associated with these obligations and the company organization. In addition, we process the data on the basis of our legitimate interests in proper and commercial business management as well as in security measures to protect our contractual partners and our business operations from misuse, endangerment of their data, secrets, information and rights (e.g. to involve telecommunications, transport and other auxiliary services as well as subcontractors, banks, tax and legal advisors, payment service providers or tax authorities). Within the framework of applicable law, we only pass on the data of contractual partners to third parties to the extent that this is necessary for the aforementioned purposes or to fulfill legal obligations. The contractual partners are informed about other forms of processing, e.g. for marketing purposes, within the framework of this data protection declaration.
We inform the contractual partners which data is required for the aforementioned purposes before or as part of the data collection, e.g. in online forms, by special marking (e.g. colors) or symbols (e.g. asterisks or similar), or in person.
We delete the data after the expiry of statutory warranty and comparable obligations, i.e., generally after 4 years, unless the data is stored in a customer account, e.g. as long as it must be kept for legal archiving reasons. The statutory retention period is ten years for documents relevant to tax law, as well as for commercial books, inventories, opening balance sheets, annual financial statements, the work instructions required to understand these documents and other organizational documents and accounting documents, and six years for received commercial and business letters and reproductions of the commercial and business letters sent. The period begins at the end of the calendar year in which the last entry was made in the book, the inventory, opening balance sheet, annual financial statements or management report was drawn up, the commercial or business letter was received or sent, or the accounting document was created, the recording was made or the other documents were created.
If we use third-party providers or platforms to provide our services, the terms and conditions and data protection notices of the respective third-party providers or platforms apply to the relationship between the users and the providers.

- Customer account: Contractual partners can create an account within our online offering (e.g. customer or user account, "customer account" for short). If the registration of a customer account is required, contractual partners will be informed of this as well as of the information required for registration. Customer accounts are not public and cannot be indexed by search engines. As part of the registration and subsequent logins and use of the customer account, we save the customers' IP addresses along with the access times in order to be able to prove registration and prevent any misuse of the customer account. If customers have canceled their customer account, the data relating to the customer account will be deleted, unless their retention is required for legal reasons. It is the responsibility of the customer to secure their data when the customer account is canceled; legal basis: contract fulfillment and pre-contractual inquiries (Art. 6 Para. 1 Clause 1 Letter b) GDPR).

Payment methods
As part of contractual and other legal relationships, due to legal obligations or otherwise on the basis of our legitimate interests, we offer the persons concerned efficient and secure payment options and use other service providers in addition to banks and credit institutions (collectively "payment service providers").
The data processed by the payment service providers includes inventory data, such as the name and address, bank details, such as account numbers or credit card numbers, passwords, TANs and checksums, as well as contract, sum and recipient-related information. The information is required to carry out the transactions. However, the data entered is only processed and stored by the payment service providers. This means that we do not receive any account or credit card-related information, but only information confirming or rejecting the payment. The payment service providers may transmit the data to credit agencies. This transmission is for the purpose of checking identity and creditworthiness. For this purpose, we refer to the general terms and conditions and the data protection information of the payment service providers.
The terms and conditions and data protection notices of the respective payment service providers, which can be accessed within the respective websites or transaction applications, apply to payment transactions. We also refer to these for further information and to assert revocation, information and other data subject rights.

Provision of the online offer and web hosting
We process the user's data in order to be able to provide them with our online services. For this purpose, we process the user's IP address, which is necessary to transmit the content and functions of our online services to the user's browser or device.
- Types of data processed: Usage data (e.g. websites visited, interest in content, access times); Meta/communication data (e.g. device information, IP addresses).
- Affected persons: Users (e.g. website visitors, users of online services).
- Purposes of processing: Provision of our online offer and user-friendliness; Information technology infrastructure (operation and provision of information systems and technical devices (computers, servers, etc.)); Security measures.
- Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Art. 6 Para. 1 Clause 1 lit. f) GDPR).

- Provision of online services on rented storage space: To provide our online services, we use storage space, computing capacity and software that we rent from a corresponding server provider (also known as a "web host") or obtain from other sources; legal basis: legitimate interests (Art. 6 Para. 1 Clause 1 Letter f) GDPR).
- Collection of access data and log files: Access to our online services is logged in the form of so-called "server log files". The server log files may include the address and name of the websites and files accessed, the date and time of access, the amount of data transferred, notification of successful access, browser type and version, the user's operating system, referrer URL (the previously visited page) and, as a rule, IP addresses and the requesting provider. The server log files can be used for security purposes, e.g. to avoid overloading the servers (particularly in the case of abusive attacks, so-called DDoS attacks) and to ensure the utilization of the servers and their stability; Legal basis: legitimate interests (Art. 6 Para. 1 Clause 1 Letter f) GDPR); Deletion of data: log file information is stored for a maximum of 30 days and then deleted or anonymized. Data that needs to be retained for evidentiary purposes is exempt from deletion until the respective incident has been finally clarified.

Registration, login and user account
Users can create a user account. During registration, users are provided with the required mandatory information and processed for the purposes of providing the user account on the basis of contractual obligations. The data processed includes in particular the login information (user name, password and an email address).
When using our registration and login functions and using the user account, we save the IP address and the time of the respective user action. The storage is based on our legitimate interests as well as those of the users in protection against misuse and other unauthorized use. This data is generally not passed on to third parties unless it is necessary to pursue our claims or there is a legal obligation to do so.

Users can be informed by email about processes that are relevant to their user account, such as technical changes.

- Deletion of data after termination: If users have terminated their user account, their data with regard to the user account will be deleted, subject to legal permission, obligation or consent of the users; legal basis: contract fulfillment and pre-contractual inquiries (Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. b) GDPR).
- No obligation to retain data: It is the responsibility of the user to back up their data in the event of termination before the end of the contract. We are entitled to irretrievably delete all user data stored during the term of the contract; legal basis: contract fulfillment and pre-contractual inquiries (Art. 6 Para. 1 Clause 1 Letter b) GDPR).

Single sign-on registration
"Single sign-on" or "single sign-on registration or authentication" refers to procedures that allow users to log in to a provider of single sign-on procedures (e.g. a social network), including our online offering, using a user account. The prerequisite for single sign-on authentication is that users are registered with the respective single sign-on provider and enter the required access data in the online form provided for this purpose, or are already registered with the single sign-on provider and confirm the single sign-on registration via a button.
Authentication takes place directly with the respective single sign-on provider. As part of such authentication, we receive a user ID with the information that the user is logged in to the respective single sign-on provider under this user ID and an ID that we cannot use for other purposes (so-called "user handle"). Whether additional data is sent to us depends solely on the single sign-on process used, on the data releases selected as part of the authentication and also on which data users have released in the privacy or other settings of the user account with the single sign-on provider. Depending on the single sign-on provider and the user's choice, this can be different data, usually the email address and the user name. The password entered as part of the single sign-on process with the single sign-on provider is neither visible to us nor is it stored by us.
Users are asked to note that their information stored with us can be automatically compared with their user account with the single sign-on provider, but this is not always possible or actually happens. If, for example, the users' email addresses change, they must change them manually in their user account with us.
We can use the single sign-on registration, if agreed with the users, as part of or before the contract is fulfilled, if the users have been asked to do so, process it within the scope of consent and otherwise use it on the basis of our legitimate interests and the interests of the users in an effective and secure registration system.
If users decide that they no longer want to use the link between their user account with the single sign-on provider for the single sign-on process, they must cancel this connection within their user account with the single sign-on provider. If users want to delete their data from us, they must cancel their registration with us.
- Types of data processed: inventory data (e.g. names, addresses); contact data (e.g. email, telephone numbers); usage data (e.g. websites visited, interest in content, access times); meta/communication data (e.g. device information, IP addresses); Event data (Facebook) ("Event data" is data that can be transmitted by us to Facebook, for example via Facebook pixel (via apps or other means) and that relates to people or their actions; the data includes, for example, information about visits to websites, interactions with content, functions, installations of apps, purchases of products, etc.; the event data is processed for the purpose of creating target groups for content and advertising information (custom audiences); event data does not contain the actual content (such as comments written), no login information and no contact information (i.e. no names, email addresses and telephone numbers). Event data is deleted by Facebook after a maximum of two years, and the target groups created from it when our Facebook account is deleted).

Blogs and publication media
We use blogs or comparable means of online communication and publication (hereinafter "publication medium"). Readers' data is only processed for the purposes of the publication medium to the extent that it is necessary for its presentation and communication between authors and readers or for security reasons. In addition, we refer to the information on the processing of visitors to our publication medium in the context of this data protection notice.

Contact and inquiry management
When you contact us (e.g. via contact form, email, telephone or via social media) and within the framework of existing user and business relationships, the details of the inquiring persons are processed to the extent that this is necessary to answer the contact inquiries and any requested measures.
The answering of contact inquiries and the administration of contact and inquiry data within the framework of contractual or pre-contractual relationships takes place to fulfill our contractual obligations or to answer (pre)contractual inquiries and otherwise on the basis of the legitimate interests in answering inquiries and maintaining user or business relationships.

- Contact form: If users contact us via our contact form, email or other communication channels, we process the data communicated to us in this context to process the communicated request. For this purpose, we process personal data within the framework of pre-contractual and contractual business relationships, insofar as this is necessary for their fulfillment and otherwise on the basis of our legitimate interests as well as the interests of the communication partners in answering the requests and our statutory retention periods; legal basis: contract fulfillment and pre-contractual inquiries (Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. b) GDPR), legitimate interests (Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. f) GDPR).

Newsletters and electronic notifications
We only send newsletters, emails and other electronic notifications (hereinafter "newsletters") with the consent of the recipient or legal permission. If the contents of the newsletter are specifically described when registering for the newsletter, they are decisive for the consent of the user. In addition, our newsletters contain information about our services and us.
To register for our newsletters, it is generally sufficient if you provide your email address. However, we may ask you to provide a name for the purpose of addressing you personally in the newsletter, or other information if this is required for the purposes of the newsletter.
Double opt-in procedure: Registration for our newsletter is generally carried out using a so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that after registering, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary so that no one can register with someone else's email address. Registrations for the newsletter are logged in order to be able to prove the registration process in accordance with legal requirements. This includes storing the time of registration and confirmation as well as the IP address. Changes to your data stored by the shipping service provider are also logged.
